Schneebergbahn starts the 2024 season

The Schneebergbahn starts the new season on April 27, 2024, the Schneeberg chairlift in the Losenheim district follows on May 1, 2024. The Schneebergbahn takes guests daily from Puchberg am Schneeberg train station to the highest train station in Austria, the Bergbahnhof, until November 3, 2024 High snow mountain at 1.800 meters above sea level.

“Our Schneebergbahn is one of the most famous excursion destinations in Lower Austria. For our compatriots and families, this traditional cog railway offers an attractive leisure experience – an opportunity to switch off and enjoy the start of the 2024 season,” informs LH deputy Udo Landbauer.

The new season of the Schneebergbahn offers early risers two fixed points to note: From April 27th, the “Early Bird Ticket” will delight hikers in the morning with a discounted ride down to the valley until 12 p.m. The “Alpine Sunrise” combination offer takes passengers to the Hochschneeberg before sunrise every Friday from July 5th to August 30th, including breakfast in the Baumgartner refuge. “From July 1st to September 30th, our nostalgic steam train will also be in use on all Sundays and public holidays in addition to the Salamander trains,” adds Barbara Komarek, Managing Director of Niederösterreich Bahnen.
