Singapore Airlines has announced that it will invest 1,1 billion Singapore dollars (around 770 million euros) in the conversion of 41 Airbus A350-900 aircraft as part of a comprehensive program.
The aim is to redefine the premium travel experience on long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes. A key part of this modernization is the introduction of a luxurious First Class cabin in the seven A350-900ULR models, which are designed for the longest routes in the world.
In addition to the new First Class seats, Business Class and Premium Economy and Economy cabins will also be modernized to offer passengers a higher level of comfort and privacy. The new seating products are ergonomically designed and take into account the changing preferences of travelers. The update also includes the latest version of the KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, which offers passengers a wider range of personalized entertainment options.
The conversion will be carried out by Singapore Airlines Engineering Company in Singapore. The first converted A350-900 is scheduled to enter service in the second quarter of 2026, while the first A350-900ULR variants will follow in the first quarter of 2027. The entire programme is expected to be completed by the end of 2030.
