Starting in March 2024: Anadolujet becomes AJet

In the future, Turkish Airlines will operate its own low-cost airline under the name AJet Air Transport. The carrier will appear externally as AJet.com and is expected to grow strongly in the next few years. Operational flight operations will begin in March 2024.

“Today we started the creation of our AJet in line with our goals for the next 10 years. The efforts and efforts we have been making for a long time have yielded their results and we will take AJet to the skies with the transition to the summer tariff at the end of March 2024. I firmly believe that AJet, which with its new name is a candidate for global growth, will be an important part of the understanding of the low-cost flight sector,” said Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines will bring into AJet the activities that have so far been carried out under the Anadolujet brand. Until now, the low-cost brand was not a full-fledged airline, but simply a division of Turkey's largest airline. The freight activities will also be outsourced to a new subsidiary, which will then have its own certificates.

With the help of the two new subsidiaries, Turkish Airlines wants to make the group broader and, according to its own statements, more flexible. Regarding AJet, it was explained from the start that the new structure should also enable external investors to be brought on board. Initially, the new low-cost airline is fully owned by Turkish Airlines. AJet will offer pure economy class flights on board.
