Stuttgart: Sunexpress and Turkish Airlines came dangerously close

On October 23, 2023, a Boeing 737-800 from Sunexpress and an Airbus A321 from Turkish Airlines came dangerously close to each other at Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport. The Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation is conducting an investigation.

A first interim report was published in the most recent bulletin. According to this, the B737 from SunExpress is said to have started to land, although there was an Airbus A07 from Turkish Airlines on runway 321 at Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport. The controllers reacted and instructed the SunExpress aircraft to take off immediately.
