The airline SunExpress is further expanding its route network from Stuttgart and will launch three new non-stop flights to Turkey starting at the end of May 2025. The first flight will be to Ordu-Giresun on the picturesque Black Sea coast on May 28, 2025, and will be served directly from Stuttgart every Wednesday.
Just two days later, on May 30, 2025, flights will begin to Bursa on the Sea of Marmara, a city rich in historical sites and easily accessible from the popular hiking and mountaineering destination of Uludağ. This route will be served twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, to Bursa-Yenisehir Airport. The trio of new connections will be completed on June 1, 2025, with the inaugural flight to Balikesir-Edremit near the Aegean Sea. This route will be scheduled every Sunday until the end of September. With these expansions, SunExpress now serves 16 of a total of 18 Turkish destinations directly from Stuttgart, thus consolidating its position as the second-largest airline in the region.
New non-stop flight to the Black Sea coast: Ordu-Giresun
Starting May 28, 2025, travelers from Stuttgart can easily reach the Black Sea coastal region around Ordu and Giresun every Wednesday. This region is known for its verdant landscape, which stretches between the sea and the Pontic Mountains. Ordu boasts a modern cable car to the local mountain of Boztepe, offering expansive panoramic views. Giresun is historically significant and known for the island of Giresun Adası, which boasts ancient and medieval traces. The new nonstop flight from SunExpress now makes it possible to reach this charming region without a stopover.
Starting May 30, 2025, SunExpress will operate twice-weekly flights from Stuttgart to Bursa, Mondays and Fridays. Bursa, Turkey's fourth-largest city, looks back on a significant history as the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Numerous historic mosques, mausoleums, baths, and the famous Koza Han silk bazaar bear witness to this past. Its proximity to the almost 2.500-meter-high Uludağ Mountain also makes Bursa an attractive destination for nature lovers and active vacationers, who can enjoy hiking or mountaineering there. The new nonstop flight makes traveling to this diverse region much easier.
Aegean coast easily accessible: Balikesir-Edremit
Starting June 1, 2025, SunExpress will be expanding its service from Stuttgart with a weekly connection to Balikesir-Edremit on the Aegean coast. The flights will operate every Sunday and are scheduled to run until the end of September.
The Edremit region is known for its olive groves and proximity to picturesque coastal towns such as Ayvalık and Mount Ida (Kaz Dağları National Park), an area of outstanding natural beauty and mythological significance. The new non-stop flight offers an attractive option for holidaymakers wishing to explore the Turkish Aegean.
SunExpress further expands its position in Stuttgart
With the addition of these three new destinations, SunExpress underscores its importance for Stuttgart Airport. The airline now serves 16 Turkish destinations directly from the Baden-Württemberg state capital, positioning itself as the second-largest airline at the airport.
This expansion of the flight offering offers travelers from the Stuttgart region an even wider selection of non-stop flights to various regions of Turkey and contributes to strengthening connections between Germany and Turkey.
