In the winter of 2022/23, the shipping company Swan Hellenic will deploy the expedition ships SH Vega and SH Minervia in the Antarctic. A total of six different tours are offered, lasting between ten and 19 days.

The SH Minerva is sailing to New Zealand, making stops in Antarctica en route. The sister ship, which is identical in construction, departs from Ushuaia via the Antarctic to Cape Town. Extensive excursions into the eternal ice are offered. Both ships are marketed by the shipping company as five-star expedition ships.

In the coming year, the SH Diana will be a third new build to the fleet. This will offer space for 152 passengers and will also be used in expedition traffic. Swan Hellnic explains that the three ships are certified for ice classes PC-5 and PC-6 and can therefore be used in polar waters.
