Swiss draws mixed conclusions for 2024 summer flight season

The airline Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) had a mixed result during the summer holidays. Despite an eight percent increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year, punctuality increased to 64 percent.

However, more passengers were affected by delays and irregularities, mainly due to external factors such as thunderstorms and bottlenecks in European air traffic control. The hub at Zurich Airport was particularly affected, with additional strains caused by capacity problems in European airspace. Swiss emphasises the successful work of its team and the measures implemented to enable further improvements in punctuality. However, challenges remain, particularly in European air traffic control.
