According to a company announcement, the Swiss Lufthansa subsidiary Swiss has been using Iranian airspace for overflights again since May 1, 2024.

The airline also plans to resume passenger flights to and from Beirut from May 4th. The Lebanese capital will then be served twice a week again, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Swiss justifies this decision by saying that the situation in both Beirut and Iran has calmed down and that safe flight operations can be guaranteed after a thorough assessment of the situation. The airline continues to monitor developments closely and is in close contact with the relevant authorities in Switzerland and locally. If necessary, we will react immediately to possible changes in the situation, emphasized the Lufthansa subsidiary.
