Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) will in future use Lufthansa Technik’s expertise in the area of component supply for its new long-haul fleet.
A recently signed contract for Total Component Support (TCS) for the Airbus A350 aircraft complements the existing cooperation for the A320, A330 and A340 fleets. From next year, the Airbus A350 will reinforce Swiss' long-haul fleet. In addition to the expanded support for the home base parts warehouse at Zurich Airport, the existing partnership will be further deepened to ensure the availability of spare parts, also in view of the current global supply chain problems.
Claus Bauer, Head of Technical Fleet Management at Swiss, expressed his confidence that the collaboration with Lufthansa Technik will continue to help ensure the high quality and availability of aircraft components in the future. In the past, Swiss had already benefited from the service provider's reliability, for example in the use of Aeroshark technology to reduce kerosene consumption.
Kai-Stefan Röpke of Lufthansa Technik emphasized that the expanded capacities through 15 global parts warehouses and flexible transport solutions will ensure that all required A350 components are made available as quickly as possible.
