Tui expands flight offer from Salzburg for summer 2025

Tour operator Tui is significantly expanding its flight program from Salzburg Airport for summer 2025. Given the high demand for sun and beach holidays, the first flights to Rhodes, Larnaca, and Hurghada were fully booked last weekend.

This positive trend continues with the first departures to Kos and Crete in the coming days. Overall, TUI offers its customers in Salzburg and the surrounding area convenient travel to 15 holiday destinations in eight countries with up to 39 weekly departures, 31 of which are operated in cooperation with its partner Eurowings.

Greece and Spain lead the popularity rankings

As Gottfried Math, Managing Director of TUI Austria, explained during a press conference at Salzburg Airport, the expanded flight offering is a response to the continued high demand for classic summer holiday destinations around the Mediterranean. Greece, in particular, is enjoying great popularity among TUI guests departing from Salzburg.

Eleven weekly departures connect the region with six Greek islands: Karpathos, Zakynthos, Corfu, Kos, Rhodes, and Crete. Spain follows in second place in the ranking of the most popular holiday destinations. Eurowings flies TUI customers to Mallorca ten times a week, sometimes several times a day, and twice a week to Ibiza.

Türkiye grows significantly – capacity increased by ten percent

Turkey ranks third in the popularity rankings among TUI guests from Salzburg. Due to strong demand, the Turkish Riviera around Antalya will be served seven times a week this summer – four with Corendon Airlines and three with Pegasus Airlines. To meet the increased demand, TUI has increased capacity on its flight schedule from Salzburg by ten percent compared to the previous year. Math urged undecided travelers to book promptly, as he is optimistic that the additional seats will be filled quickly.

In addition to the top destinations of Greece, Spain, and Turkey, TUI also offers direct flights from Salzburg to other popular holiday destinations. These include Larnaca in Cyprus, Sardinia with Olbia, and Calabria with Lamezia Terme in Italy, Hurghada in Egypt with three weekly departures, Monastir in Tunisia (once weekly from June 4), and Burgas on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast (once weekly). Italy and Egypt rank fourth and fifth in the ranking of the most popular holiday destinations for TUI guests from Salzburg.

Positive forecasts for summer 2025

The signs are good for a successful summer 2025 for TUI in Salzburg. The volume of guests flying from Salzburg is currently 17 percent higher than last summer. Airport Managing Director Bettina Ganghofer emphasized the importance of vacation as a basic need and a break from everyday life.

She observes a clear desire to travel and increased interest in catalogs, online offers, and visits to travel agencies. With a summer full of sun and new experiences, nothing stands in the way of a family vacation or personal time off.
