Next Airpower will take place in September 2024

On September 06th and 7th, 2024, the Austrian Armed Forces, together with the partners State of Styria and Red Bull, are organizing Airpower24 at Hinterstoisser Air Base in Zeltweg. The Airpower24 will consist of a military performance show on the ground, as well as demonstrations by the Austrian Air Force and international military aerobatic teams as well as the Flying Bulls and participants from the field of civil aviation, a static show by civilian exhibitors from the areas of the aviation industry, research and teaching as well as an extensive supporting event Airfield grounds including the military aviation museum exist. Participation in Airpower24 is free for visitors.

“I am pleased that, together with our partners Red Bull and the State of Styria, we will once again give important impetus to the region with Airpower24, especially in economically difficult times,” explained Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner at a press conference with the Airpower24 partners tent path. “Visitors to Airpower24 will be able to get a first-hand impression of what our air force is capable of. And what new aircraft we will get in the next few years,” said Tanner, presenting the first fixed points in the Airpower24 program. For example, a display contribution of the C-390 transport aircraft, flight demonstrations of possible successors to the Saab 105, which are currently also being procured by the Austrian Armed Forces as part of the 2032 development plan, and, for the first time, the new multi-purpose helicopter AW-169 “LION” will be included in a flying display be seen. 

“Styria will be back in the international spotlight in 24 with Airpower2024, Europe’s largest air show. This strengthens the reputation of our federal state and especially the Murtal as a tourism destination and also contributes directly to the creation of value in the region. Especially in economically difficult times, this is crucial for maintaining many jobs. As an important source of inspiration for the region, the state of Styria will once again support Airpower24 as a partner,” explains State Governor Christopher Drexler.
