Not everything is getting more and more expensive: HolidayCheck's regular early bird analysis has informative results for travelers: The package holiday prices for 2024 show significant differences compared to the previous year. Savings are possible, in some cases prices are even significantly lower than in 2023.

Families planning their vacation can look forward to attractive offers. Turkey recorded a price reduction of 13 percent compared to last year and is considered the cheapest travel destination. HolidayCheck has also observed a significant price decline of eleven percent for Egypt. Greece is proving affordable with an increase of three percent. Holidaymakers who like to travel to Spain will have to dig deeper into their pockets with an increase of 12 percent. Mallorca is the exception, where the price increase is only three percent.

Couples planning their trip during the summer months can benefit from current developments. Since they are more flexible and can travel outside of the holiday season, they have even greater savings potential. This year, trips to the Algarve or Tunisia as well as many Canary and Greek islands are particularly worthwhile. Here the prices for couples for a ten-day package holiday are just under or even less than 3.000 euros. HolidayCheck travel expert Christoph Heinzmann comments on the sharp decline in prices for trips to Egypt: “The political unrest in the Middle East is having a significant impact on demand for trips to the country on the Red Sea. In this case, we would recommend booking a flex tariff in order to be able to reschedule at short notice if necessary.”
