The US airline United Airlines intends to organize additional medium-haul jets from the European manufacturer Airbus through lessors.

Preliminary agreements have been signed with two lessors that will lead to the leasing of 35 brand-new Airbus A321neo. The decision was made to use CFM engines in order not to be affected by any further problems from the manufacturer Pratt & Whitney. These machines are scheduled to be handed over in 2026 and 2027.

Furthermore, when presenting its latest quarterly figures, United Airlines announced that it had converted some of the Boeing 737 Max 10 orders into Max 9s. These are scheduled to be delivered starting next year. It has been agreed with the manufacturer that further Max-10 orders can be converted into the smaller Max-8 and/or Max-9 models if necessary.
