The flying staff of the airline Swiss could be vaccinated. Actually, it was initially said that the flight attendants and pilots can be vaccinated voluntarily, but according to a report in the newspaper "Blick", a possible obligation is not off the table.
The Lufthansa subsidiary told the medium that the situation would have to be reassessed depending on the further development of the pandemic. Furthermore: "It depends on the entry regulations of the respective countries whether the flight crew has to be vaccinated." When asked to what extent this could be disadvantageous for non-vaccinated "flyers", the company did not want to provide any details.
Swiss recommends that employees get vaccinated and, according to CH-Media, is currently organizing their own vaccination campaign. The carrier employs around 6.000 people. A spokesman told the newspapers of the aforementioned publisher that a special vaccination campaign should be carried out. However, he also restricted “as soon as sufficient vaccine is available for the entire population”. To put it simply: Swiss will not push its way in any way, but will only set up internal vaccination stations. To this end, you are in dialogue with the Canton of Zurich, because it has to be clarified whether the Swiss employees have to use a public vaccination route or whether the company medical service is allowed to open its own.
