Vienna: Eva Air adjusts flight times

Taiwanese airline EVA Air is making a strategic change to its departure times from Vienna Airport starting with the 2026 summer flight schedule. From March 29, 2026, flight BR62, which serves the route via Bangkok to Taipei, will depart earlier at 16:00 PM. This adjustment applies to flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. By arriving earlier in Bangkok at 07:10 AM and in Taipei at 13:25 PM the following day, the airline is responding to the needs of passengers who prefer optimized travel times for their arrival in Southeast and East Asia.

The reason for this flight schedule change is the significant improvement in transfer options at the hub in Taipei. With the new early afternoon arrival time, waiting times for connecting flights within the airline's extensive network in Asia are considerably reduced. Destinations such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Manila, and Fukuoka, whose connecting flights depart after 15:00 p.m. local time, are now more efficiently accessible. Industry analyses indicate that this measure strengthens EVA Air's competitiveness against other Asian carriers at Vienna Airport by reducing the overall travel time for transfer passengers.

The direct flights from Vienna to Taipei, operating on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, remain unaffected by this new arrangement and retain their existing time slots in the flight schedule. The 2026 summer flight schedule, which includes these changes, is valid until October 24, 2026. EVA Air will continue to operate modern long-haul Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a three-class configuration on the Vienna route. Experts also view the flight schedule adjustments as a response to increasing demand in business travel, as the earlier arrival in Taipei allows for better integration into the Asian workday.

In addition to optimized connections in Northeast Asia, Bangkok also benefits from the adjustment. Early morning arrivals allow travelers seamless connections to regional flights within Thailand or to early appointments in the Thai metropolis. This strengthens Eva Air's position as a key link between Central Europe and Asian markets. The booking systems have already been updated to reflect the new schedule, enabling passengers to adjust their travel plans for the coming year accordingly.
