The Vienna Airport Group has reached 99,9 percent of its pre-crisis volume

In September 2023, Vienna-Schwechat Airport was used by 2.919.579 passengers. This increased by 10,1 percent compared to the same month last year and reached the pre-crisis volume of 98,1 percent.

The group of companies, which consists of the airports Kosice, Luqa and Vienna, had a total of 2023 travelers in September 3.801.022. Compared to the same month last year, there was an increase of 12,7 percent. The volume that we had before the corona pandemic was reached by 99,9 percent.

At the Vienna location, the number of local passengers rose to 2.212.441 (+15,5%) and the number of transfer passengers fell slightly to 702.008 travelers (-3,5%). Flight movements increased to 20.729 takeoffs and landings (+6,3%). Freight volumes fell by 2022% compared to September 5,1 to 20.209 tons.

In September 2023, passenger traffic at Vienna Airport to Western Europe increased to 994.705 passengers (+8,0% compared to the previous year). A total of 2023 passengers (+225.877%) traveled to Eastern Europe in September 3,6. The airport recorded 49.085 travelers (+0,5%) to North America and 24.852 (+26,9%) to Africa. A total of 2023 (+90.581%) passengers traveled to the Near and Middle East in September 33,8 and 39.416 passengers (+101,5%) traveled to the Far East.

The Vienna Airport shareholdings are already growing above pre-crisis levels: passenger volumes at Malta Airport rose to 2023 travelers in September 812.176 (+23,3%), which is 6,5% above the pre-crisis level (September 2019). At Kosice Airport, the number of passengers increased to 69.267 travelers (+11,8%), which is 9,3% above the pre-crisis level.
