The Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1 Plus business jet, entered in the Austrian aviation register as OE-FMD, became the youngest victim of the latest generation of climate stickers at Westerland Airport in Germany. The machine was damaged by these with orange paint. Four people from this group, who illegally gained access to the apron, also stuck themselves to the wings.

The affected business jet is registered to a private individual residing in Grevenbroich, Germany. The “last generation” climate stickers illegally gained access to the apron, which is part of the security area, and then soiled the aircraft with a large amount of orange paint. They did not shy away from removing the engine covers in order to severely deface them as well. Then at least four people stuck to the wings with one hand each and held up a banner typical of this group. These read as follows: “Your luxury = our drought” and “Your luxury our crop failures”.

According to the police, a total of five people illegally gained access to the apron. Four of them stuck to the wings after the private jet was vandalised. The fifth is likely to have taken the photo, which was then proudly distributed via the group's social media channels.

The executive confirmed that, after consultation with the local aviation supervisory authority, the Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Road Construction and Traffic, criminal investigations into various suspected offenses had been initiated against the five people. The extent of the damage to property that occurred both on the fence at Westerland Airport and on the OE-FMD cannot be estimated at this time. In addition, it is unclear whether the engines are still usable due to the "color campaign" or not.

Just a few days ago, the Munich Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the confiscation of the assets of the "last generation" group. As a result, the climate stickers have become insolvent for the time being and have asked their supporters to pay their fines and other costs themselves for the time being. The law enforcement agency became active after a crowdfunding campaign, alleging that the “last generation” could presumably accept donations for committing crimes. Therefore, all assets, both cash and bank balances, have been temporarily confiscated.

The climate stickers of the "last generation" have announced that they will temporarily suspend the adhesive campaigns on the streets and instead have "the rich" in their sights. Thus, the paint and adhesive campaign on the OE-FMD was properly announced. The location also fits in with this, as Westerland Airport is located on the island of Sylt, which has been able to develop a bit as a kind of celebrity spot.
