With Hibernian Airlines: Flybair launches Palma flights from Bern

In the 2024 summer flight schedule, Palma de Mallorca flights from Bern-Belp will again be offered under the Flybair brand. The company, founded in 2019, had a rocky start, not least due to the corona pandemic.

At times they also had a cooperation that was unique in Europe, as they had a kind of codeshare agreement with Lübeck Air on the Bern-Lübeck route. Since both companies are not airlines, but merely sales companies, this form of cooperation has been unique to date. However, the flights that were previously marketed by Lübeck Air have since been discontinued.

In the 2024 summer timetable, the Irish Air Nostrium subsidiary Hibernian Airlines will operate charter flights from Bern-Belp on behalf of Flybair. The Bomberdier CRJ-1000 aircraft will be used in the direction of Palma de Mallorca. It is currently planned that the route will be operated seasonally between May 5th and October 20th, 2024.

For the time being, Flybair is running one round per week. The operational implementation is planned for traffic day Sunday. In addition to the marketing of individual seats, package tours set up by local tour operators should also contain such flight segments. From June 2, 2024, Helvetic Airways will also offer Palma de Mallorca from Bern. This provider will serve the destination on Thursday and Sunday.

Bern-Belp Airport has no longer had regular year-round routes for some time. According to the current state of affairs, the following destinations will be offered in the 2024 summer flight schedule:

  • Rhodes, Helvetic Airways
  • Palma de Mallorca, Helvetic Airways and Hibernian Airlines
  • Olbia, Skyalps
  • Larnaca, Helvetic Airways
  • Kos, Helvetic Airways
  • Jerez de la Frontera, Helvetic Airways
  • Heraklion, Helvetic Airways
  • Marina di Campo, City Flyers Bern
  • Djerba, Helvetic Airways
  • Cagliari, Skyalps
  • Brac, Helvetic Airways
  • Calvi, Avanti Air
