Wizz Air is expanding its route network and will offer non-stop flights between Vienna and Sibiu in Romania from August 1, 2025. The flights will operate three times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Sibiu, also known as Hermannstadt, is an important cultural center in the Transylvania region. The city is characterized by its well-preserved medieval walls, historical sights such as the Brukenthal National Museum and the Evangelical Cathedral, as well as its picturesque location near the Carpathian Mountains. The new offer is likely to appeal to both culture enthusiasts and nature lovers planning a trip to this region rich in history.
According to Mauro Peneda, Managing Director of Wizz Air Malta, Vienna is a key market for the airline. The introduction of the route to Sibiu will offer travellers a new, attractive way to discover Transylvania. The new connection is part of the plan to offer passengers more affordable travel options and to strengthen the airline's network.
