In 2024, Zurich Airport was able to almost match the record figures of the pre-crisis year of 2019. With a total of 31,2 million passengers, the airport recorded an increase of 8 percent compared to 2023 and reached 99 percent of the passenger numbers of 2019. This made 2024 the second strongest year in the airport's history.

Flight movements also increased, reaching 261.103 takeoffs and landings, 6 percent higher than in 2023, but still at 95 percent of the 2019 level. Seat utilization, on the other hand, improved by 2,5 percentage points to 80,6 percent, due to the use of larger and more efficiently utilized aircraft.

In terms of cargo, 436.032 tonnes were handled, an increase of 15 percent compared to 2023. However, this represents a decrease of 2019 percent compared to 3. With 198 destinations in 74 countries, served by 68 airlines, Zurich Airport remains a major hub. The most popular European destinations included London, Berlin and Amsterdam, while intercontinental destinations were New York, Dubai and Bangkok.

The figures for December 2024 underline the growth trend: With 2,37 million passengers, an increase of 8 percent was achieved compared to the same month last year, with flight movements reaching 99 percent of the 2019 level. The freight volume in December rose by 8 percent to 37.392 tons, but also remained slightly below the comparable figure for 2019.
