Zurich with 2.081.649 passengers in March 2023

Zurich Kloten Airport was used by 2023 passengers in March 2.081.649. Compared to the same month last year, it was possible to increase by 58 percent. The value of 2019 was reached by 86 percent.

692.688 passengers changed trains in Zurich, which corresponds to a share of 33 percent. The number of local passengers was 1.383.805. In March 2023 there were 27 percent more take-offs or landings compared to the same month last year. The airport counted 18.558 flight movements, which is 84 percent of the 2019 level. At 132 passengers, the average number of passengers per flight was 13% higher than in the previous year. Seat occupancy increased by 10 percentage points to 80% in the month under review compared to the same month last year.

A total of 35.510 tonnes of freight were handled at Zurich Airport in March. This corresponds to a decrease of 14% compared to the same month last year. Compared to March 2019, 16% less freight was handled.
