From August 12, 2022, the Chinese airline Hainan Airlines will again fly to the German airport Berlin once a week. The route has been paused since the beginning of the corona pandemic.
Due to the fact that Hainan used Tegel Airport in the past, which is no longer active, it is formally a new addition to BER. The carrier confirmed to Aviation Services & Media that from August 12 it will be flying to Berlin-Brandenburg Airport from Beijing on Fridays.
Flight HU489 will depart Beijing International (Terminal 2) at 30:2 a.m. local time and arrive in the German capital at around 6:40 a.m. local time. The return flight HU490 takes off from Berlin at 16:50 p.m. and has a stopover in Dalian-Zhoushuizi the following day at 8:25 a.m. They will leave this Chinese city at 23:45 p.m. local time and arrive in Beijing at 1:10 a.m. the following day.
"The landing in Dalian is a technical stopover in accordance with the measures to combat the corona pandemic. At the start of the operation, A330 aircraft will be deployed. Boeing 787-9 aircraft will also be used over time," Hainan Airlines said in a statement.
