With effect from May 2, 2022, there will be further easing of restrictions when entering Malta. The previously required electronic PLF form is then no longer necessary. However, the 3G rule still applies. This should continue to be checked at Luqa Airport and at the seaports.
For an extended period of time, Malta has only allowed entry without quarantine to people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Since April 11, 2022, it has also been possible to enter Germany again with a negative corona test, with the results of rapid antigen tests also being accepted for the first time. This will not change for the time being, but according to an announcement by Health Minister Chris Fearne, from May 2, 2022 you will no longer have to fill out the electronic PLF (also known as the "entry form").
Within the country, the mask requirement will be further relaxed. From this date, you no longer have to wear mouth and nose protection in shops, hotels, restaurants, public buildings and comparable indoor areas. The mask only stays in retirement homes and hospitals. The order that the mouth and nose must be covered on flights to/from Malta also remains in place. In other public transport, for example in public buses, the mask requirement will no longer apply on May 2, 2022.
