From 2024: Miles & More will be turned inside out

With effect from 1 January 2024, the Miles & More frequent flyer program will make some changes. The basics of these were already announced a few years ago, but were postponed due to the corona pandemic.

One of the new features is that there will be so-called points instead of status miles. There is also the possibility that after Senator and Hon Circle one can be awarded the Frequent Traveler for life.

In future, Miles & More members will receive points instead of status miles for their flights. How many points are collected on a flight will only depend on two criteria: the class of travel and whether the flight is continental or intercontinental. The status period will be at least one year in the future. The period to collect the required points is one calendar year for each frequent flyer status.

Long-standing frequent flyers will in future be appointed Frequent Traveler and Senator for life. The basis for this is the sum of all points collected on flights operated by Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Eurowings Discover, Lufthansa, Swiss or the jointly issuing Miles & More airline partners. The awarding of Miles & More award miles remains unchanged.
