From November 15, 2021, Cuba wants to gradually open up to tourism again. The country is traditionally a popular winter destination and is also dependent on the foreign exchange income from this segment.

The Ministry of Tourism announced that it is expected that around 90 percent of the locals will be vaccinated against Covid-19 by then. Vaccines that have been developed in their own country are used.

From November 15, 2021, the previous obligation to provide PCR results will be abolished, but tests will continue to be ordered on a random basis. Fully vaccinated tourists should then be able to enter the country without any further requirements on presentation of proof. It is currently planned that the relief should only apply to vaccinated people.
