Low-cost airline Wizz Air has wet-leased a Boeing 738-800 operated by Ukrainian airline SkyUp Airlines. The machine is stationed in Sofia and is used from there on various routes, including to Dortmund, Memmingen and Geneva.

According to CH-Aviation.com, the UR-SQO has been in service on behalf of Wizz Air since June 30, 2022. The cooperation is said to have been agreed for several months, although the client did not want to comment on the exact duration.

SkyUp Airlines cannot serve its own route network due to the war in Ukraine instigated by Russia. You could land wet lease orders from various airlines, including Corendon, Smartwings and Wizz Air, and you can stay in the air despite the most adverse circumstances.

Wizz Air is an Airbus-only operator, so the Boeing 737-800 leased from SkyUp is unique in the fleet. The UR-SQO used for the Hungarian low coster is currently 9,6 years old.
