The tour operator Tui is currently experiencing increased demand for all-inclusive package tours. Around 60 percent of the bookings are said to be in the long-distance travel segment. However, there are also significantly more advance bookings for the 2022/23 winter season for offers within Austria.
The tour operator explains in a media statement that almost every second booking is booked with an all-inclusive meal package. A particularly large number of contracts were concluded in the regions of Turkey and Egypt. According to their own statements, 90 percent of the hotels there offer the “AI” package. The Canary Islands are also still in vogue as a popular winter destination. The Maldives remain unsurpassed this winter, and were in high demand throughout the pandemic. "In Thailand, we notice particularly strongly that there is a lot of catching up to do with the easier entry conditions," says Tui Austria Managing Director Gottfried Math.
The Canary Islands have been a constant hit in winter for years. The travel group currently has around 1.000 accommodations in its portfolio. From October 22, 2022, charter flights to Marsa Alam will be offered again. These are always operated on Saturdays from Vienna by Austrian Airlines. From November, the first Nile cruise ship flying the Tui Blue flag will set off from Luxor to Aswan. The ship has 45 cabins.
"This winter, Tui guests will experience the most beautiful beaches with guaranteed sun and a few hours' flight by the sea on the one hand, and the wanderlust destinations with easier entry and fun on the slopes in the Austrian ski areas on the other," says Math.
