With the launch of the European Aviation Network (EAN), the high-speed broadband offering from Deutsche Telekom and Inmarsat, the Greek airline will offer its passengers improved connectivity on board in the future.
The on-board WiFi will be installed on all existing and new Airbus A2025s and Airbus A320s in the fleet by 321. The service has been in operation on the first seven aircraft since the beginning of February, as the company announced in a press release. Aegean passengers will have access to three different Wi-Fi packages, including a free 10-minute trial option to surf the web, send and receive emails, and access messaging and social media applications. Air travelers can then choose the Text and Surf package or upgrade to the Streaming option to watch online videos or listen to audio offerings. The streaming package will be available to all Business Class passengers free of charge. Gold status members of the Miles+Bonus program even get the Text and Surf package for free.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer our passengers the most modern broadband in Europe on board. This special milestone is part of our ongoing efforts to further develop our service experience and strengthen our competitive position. This is especially important as the aviation industry is still recovering from the effects of the global pandemic. We are delighted to be working with Inmarsat, Deutsche Telekom and Display Interactive to roll out the European Aviation Network across our entire A320 and A32 fleet,” said Airline CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis.
