A new provider is starting up in Egypt under the name Sky Vision Airlines with big plans. They want to become a scheduled airline including a freight division. Initially, however, they want to carry out charter flights with two Airbus A320s.

It is currently in the approval phase and hopes to be able to carry out the first flight later this year. According to CH-Aviation.com, the first two aircraft will be Airbus A320s with serial numbers 2204 and 2589. Due to the lack of AOC and operating license, these are not yet entered in the aviation register of Egypt.

In the first step, one machine each and Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh are to be stationed. From there you want to offer charter flights to Africa, the Gulf region and the Middle East. After receiving the TCO approval required for Europe, they also want to head for airports in the European Union. This is also on your own account as part of regular scheduled flights.

But it shouldn't stay with the classic holiday business, because Sky Vision also wants to go long-haul. It is currently being evaluated whether this will be implemented with the Airbus A330-200 or Boeing 777-200ER machine type. One wants to fly from Egypt to destinations in China, Japan, Hong Kong and possibly India. While the first two Airbus A320s are being leased, according to CH-Aviation.com they want to buy the long-haul aircraft. It is currently still unclear how many aircraft are to be purchased for this segment.

At the end of 2023, but no later than the beginning of 2024, Sky Vision also wants to enter the freight business. A decision has already been made in favor of two Airbus A321P2F. The conversion freighters are expected to be put into fleet at the end of next year. It remains to be seen to what extent the ambitious plans will actually be implemented.

In addition to Sky Vision, other Egyptian startups also want to get airborne. These include Skybird Airlines, which is aiming for passenger flights to/from Europe, and the cargo startups EuroSky Airlines and Eagle Air Egypt.
