Egypt has announced that it will lift all remaining entry restrictions - a specific date for the start of the easing is not yet known for sure.
Holidaymakers still have to provide proof of a corona vaccination or test, this obligation should no longer apply. This should allow locals and foreign citizens to enter the state on the Red Sea without corona-related conditions. It is not yet certain when the decision will come into force, but according to media reports this should be the case immediately, as Check24 reports.
At the moment, valid corona proof is still required from all arrivals, including tourists from Germany and Austria. This can either be proof of full vaccination or a negative test. A person who has completed the basic vaccination schedule at least 14 days before arrival in Egypt is considered to be fully vaccinated; a booster vaccination is not mandatory. When it comes to test results, travelers can choose between a rapid antigen test that is no more than 24 hours old and a PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old (96 hours when entering Frankfurt Airport).
