Aer Lingus UK postpones the first flight again

The new UK branch of Aer Lingus is postponing the inclusion of the USA routes from Manchester again. It was most recently announced that the New York and Orlando destinations would be added at the end of September 2021. The new start date will not be before December 2021.

However, Aer Lingus UK is scheduled to open the base in October 2021. Instead of the United States of America, it will then go to Barbados. The background to the decision is that it was hoped that the Biden government would at least open the borders for vaccinated people. But that is not in sight - at least in the short term.

Aer Lingus UK's new plan calls for the New York route to begin on December 1, 2021. Flights to Orlando will start on December 11, 2021. “Both New York and Orlando were scheduled to begin on September 30th. Aer Lingus apologizes for the inconvenience caused and our dedicated teams are reaching out to customers directly to offer either a full refund, a rebooking to an alternative service, or the option of an additional 10 percent voucher for use across the Aer Lingus network next five years, ”said the carrier in a statement.

The destination Barbados is to be served from Manchester from October 20, 2021. For the time being, three weekly rounds are planned. With the start of these flights, the UK base will also officially open.
