The airline Aeroméxico is expanding its decentralized traffic between Mexico and Europe. In the first step, non-stop flights between Guadalajara and Monterrey to Madrid will be started. Further routes are planned.
From December 15, 2021, Aeroméxico will initially serve the Spanish capital three times a week with Boeing 787-9s from Guadalajara. The route from Monterrey is scheduled to begin on December 16, 2021 and will be flown with Dreamliners at the same frequency. Aeroméxico has announced another new route from Cancun: the Boeing 787-9 will fly three times a week to Sao Paulo from December 15, 2021.
So far, the Mexican carrier has mainly relied on the hub-and-spoke concept and routed the majority of its traffic via Mexico City. This is being said goodbye, at least in part, because it is explicitly planned that more decentralized routes to destinations in South America and Europe will be included. Due to the unclear developments in connection with the corona pandemic, announcements are still being held back.
