The airline Aeromexico plans to increase frequencies on long-haul routes to Europe. The routes that are offered from Mexico City (Benito Juárez International) are affected.

The carrier currently offers 40 weekly rotations to Europe from Mexican airports. Only recently, two additional routes were added, Guadalajara-Madrid and Monterrey-Madrid. In return, however, the flights between Mexico City and Barcelona have been abandoned.

From June 2022, connections from the Mexican capital to London Heathrow, Paris-Charle de Gaulle and Madrid are to be increased. Daily flights to the UK from 1 June 2022. The Spanish capital will be served up to 13 times a week from June 2022, 15. Paris will be increased by two rotations to nine rotations per week. 350 flights between Mexico and Europe will then be offered per month. The carrier puts the offer at 95.000 seats.

In contrast to other regions of the world, Mexico was able to recover particularly quickly from the slump caused by the corona pandemic. In domestic traffic, the offer is even higher than the level that existed before the crisis. International traffic is also catching up quickly, but it is still around ten percent below the pre-crisis level.
