After 12 years: Vueling discontinues Barcelona-Zagreb

The low-cost airline Vueling will not offer non-stop flights between Barcelona and Zagreb in the 2024 summer timetable. This seasonal route has been in the portfolio since 2012.

According to a report from Ex-Yu-Aviation.com, the route was also served in the summer during the Corona years, but was gradually thinned out over the years. Recently there were only two rounds per week. Vueling's decision could also be related to the fact that there is fierce competition on this route: Croatia Airlines will operate the connection between the two capitals up to three times a week in the summer of 2024. The competitor Ryanair will start flights from Zagreb with the same frequency on April 1, 2024, but in Spain they use Girona Airport, which is marketed as “Barcelona-Girona”.
