As recently as mid-August, the airline Norse Atlantic Airways started a non-stop connection between Berlin-Brandenburg and Los Angeles. It will be over again on October 16, 2022, because the carrier will discontinue this route indefinitely.

Easy to win for Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, because the capacity utilization on this US route is actually very promising. However, the problems lie in the poor performance of the Oslo-Los Angeles connection. This does not yield enough for the Norwegian low-cost airline, which is why it is being suspended for the time being.

Norse Atlantic Airways has aircraft stationed neither in the west coast city nor in Berlin. The German federal capital is served in the so-called W pattern. The suspension of flights between Oslo and Los Angeles means that the Boeing 787 aircraft required for Berlin flights is not available. That's why you bet Berlin-Los Angeles off indefinitely. The carrier does not yet want to talk about a final cessation, although there is no fixed date for a possible resumption.

According to the information currently available, the other two US routes from the German capital are not affected. New York-JFK will be served three times a week and from December 7, 2022 three Fort Lauderdale rounds a week will be operated.
