Apron workers had to make a gruesome discovery at Algiers Airport on Saturday: the bodies of two young men were found in the hold. The police said they were between 20 and 23 years old.
The bodies were found around 5:00 a.m. local time on Saturday in an Air Algérie plane parked on the apron. The executive assumes that the two wanted to flee to Europe as stowaways. The plan was unsuccessful and cost the young men their lives.
Again and again it happens that refugees try to fly as stowaways in cargo holds or even in the landing gear bay. This is life-threatening and also the reason why such escape maneuvers often end in death.
