There will be a changed structure within the Capital A Group, as the long-haul low-cost airline Air Asia X is to take over the sisters Air Asia Aviation Group and Air Asia Berhad.

The divestment by Capital A will enable the merger of AirAsia X and AirAsia, bringing together all short and medium-haul routes under the AirAsia brand. "Consolidating under the AirAsia brand as a listed company reflects our commitment to leverage our renewed strength and market confidence to deliver a consistent and unrivalled travel experience to our guests and significant value to our shareholders," said Dato' Fam Lee Ee, Chairman of AirAsia X.
