The state of emergency in Kazakhstan has affected Air Astana Group's operations. Between January 5 and 12, 2022, a total of 178 international and 621 domestic Kazakh flights operated by Air Astana and FlyArystan had to be cancelled.

After air traffic was able to resume in Nur-Sultan and at other Kazakh airports on January 7, 2022, flights to and from Almaty have also been taking place since yesterday. Since the resumption of international flight operations, more than 7.500 passengers have been able to return to their home countries: on scheduled flights to Istanbul, Antalya, Dubai, Sharjah, Kiev, Moscow, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Saint Petersburg, Frankfurt, Tashkent and Kutaisi and on special flights from the Maldives , Phuket, Colombo, Antalya, Tbilisi, Baku and Goa, according to the carrier.

New rules for entering Kazakhstan

Starting tomorrow, new rules for entering the Republic of Kazakhstan will apply. Accordingly, both unvaccinated and vaccinated passengers must present a negative PCR test, which must not be older than 72 hours at the time of entry into Kazakhstan. In addition, the PCR test result must be in English, Russian or Kazakh. These rules do not apply to children under the age of five. As before, these newly issued regulations are checked in advance by the respective airlines. Air Astana emphasizes in this context: “Passengers who do not have a negative PCR
Anyone who can show the test will be denied entry to the aircraft.”
