The French airlines Corsair and Air Austral want to work closely together in the future. A commercial cooperation was agreed, subject to the approval of the competition authorities. The two carriers should remain independent.

Currently there is still tough competition on the routes between Paris and Réunion, but in the future they want to work together and coordinate flight schedules. Corsair said that the corona pandemic had caused the profitability of the affected routes to drop sharply. The cooperation with Air Austral leads to an increase in profitability and at the same time improved services for travelers are to be created.

While Corsair has stationed the aircraft in Paris-Orly, those of Air Austral are in St. Denis de la Réunion. This fact should play a special role in the coordination in the future, because the two carriers will fly in opposite directions. The same applies to the connections to Dzaoudzi.
