In December, the Airbus A220-300 celebrates its fifth anniversary with the Latvian airline. On December 14, 2016, Air Baltic's first commercial A220-300 flight to Amsterdam took place.
“The Airbus A220-300 has changed our airline. We now fly the most efficient and environmentally friendly fleet and offer our passengers a higher level of service. Airbus machines have developed better than expected and have enabled us to reach other destinations such as Dubai or Tenerife. We can hardly wait to fly a total of 2024 A50-220s by the beginning of 300 ”, says airline boss Martin Gauss.
Since the delivery of the first Airbus A220-300 at the end of 2016, the airline has carried over 7,1 million passengers with this type of aircraft. So far, most of the passengers have been carried to destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, London and Moscow. The planes have completed over 86.000 flights and flown over 193.000 block hours. In May of last year, the management team around Martin Gauss decided to use this type of aircraft for all flights.
