The Latvian airline Air Baltic has extended the wet lease agreements with Air Balitc, which have been in place for some time, until October 29, 2022. The Romanian aviation company flies a Fokker 100 and an Airbus A319 from Riga on numerous routes for Air Baltic.

The Latvian carrier itself is currently operating several A220-300s on behalf of Eurowings Discover, Eurowings and SAS in wet lease use. In the winter flight schedule 2022/23 you will fly with six machines of this type for Swiss. Due to the fact that a not inconsiderable part of the Air Baltic fleet is on the road for other airlines, there is a bottleneck in your own route network.

This is compensated for by renting an aircraft. Furthermore, Air Baltic has to reduce the offer with effect from September 2022, as Airbus Canada is currently having delivery problems in the area of required spare parts. For a combination of all reasons, the wet lease agreements with Carpatair have been extended until the end of the 2022 summer scheduling period.

Air Baltic has signed a new contract with the airline Cyprus Airways. Since July 2022, the Cypriot aviation company has been flying for the Latvians with an Airbus A320. The machine is mainly used from the home base in Riga. For the time being, the wet lease order is limited to the end of August 2022, but there is an option to extend it.
