The Latvian airline Air Baltic sent a delegation to Riga on March 25, 2024 to take part in a meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure. Company boss Martin Gauss explained that they are ready to reactivate flights to/from Kiev, Lviv and Odessa as soon as the security situation permits.

The prerequisite is that the war has ended and EASA declares that flights to Ukraine are safe. “We are determined to actively participate in the restoration of Ukrainian air transport. Air Baltic remains a confident and supportive partner in rebuilding and investing in Ukrainian aviation. Under the harshest conditions of war, we were convinced of the professionalism of the airport team and look forward to resuming flight operations as soon as possible. As the safety of our employees, passengers, aircraft and flights is our top priority, Air Baltic will resume flights with our neighboring country as soon as possible to ensure connectivity and support Ukraine's independence. Слава Україні (Glory to Ukraine)!”, said Martin Gauss.
