Air Baltic has maintained A220 for Air Austral

The Latvian airline Air Baltic carried out an A2022 A-Check for the French Air Austral for the first time in early December 220. The work was carried out by ten technicians.

“Since 2016, when Air Baltic used the Airbus A220-300 for its operations, our technicians have performed almost 300 A-Checks and many other maintenance tasks of varying complexity. Years of practice and experience speak for themselves and justify their goals, including the ability to offer our maintenance services to other airlines worldwide. We are delighted that Air Austral is entrusting its aircraft to our professionals, as in aviation safety is the number one priority,” said Andris Vaivads, senior vice president of technical operations at the Latvian airline.

The A-Check is a set of tasks that includes general inspections of the interior and fuselage for signs of e.g. B. includes damage, deformation, corrosion or missing parts. It also includes functional checks and the maintenance of all aircraft systems. Depending on the aircraft type, the A-Check is carried out approximately every 400-850 flight hours or every 200-300 flights. Such maintenance is usually carried out in a hangar and can take at least 10 man-hours depending on the services required.
