The Latvian airline Air Baltic is expanding its service from Vilnius with a new direct connection to Düsseldorf. From October 31, 2024, there will be a regular connection twice a week between the two cities. The new route is the fourth connection from Vilnius to Germany and complements existing flights to Berlin, Munich and Hamburg.

The expansion is part of a cooperation between Air Baltic and Lithuanian airports aimed at long-term collaboration. Martin Gauss, President and CEO of Air Baltic, underlines the strategic importance of the new route due to the close economic relations between Lithuania and Germany. Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian airports, emphasizes that the new connection will increase the number of regular flights between Lithuania and Germany to ten and will contribute to strengthening economic ties.
