The Spanish airline Air Europa has announced that long-haul connections to the United States of America and Latin America will be expanded again. The carrier announced that 2020 of 18 long haul routes will be reactivated by December 23.

It starts with destinations such as Bogotá, Medellin, Caracas and La Habana, which are to be returned to in November. Air Europa intends to gradually increase the frequencies to the destinations it already serves, Santo Domingo, Quito and Guayaquil. The next step will follow in December: Miami, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santa Cruz / Bolivia, Panamá, Punta Cana and Salvador da Bahía will be reactivated. Air Europa currently serves the following long haul destinations, among others: Sao Paulo, Montevideo, San Pedro Sula, Santo Domingo, Quito, Guayaquil and Santa Cruz.

It goes without saying that in times like these, the Spanish aviation company does not make any announcements without “small print”. The media release states that the recordings are subject to the further development of the corona pandemic. In other words: Air Europa could still call off one or the other target. In cooperation with Allianz Global Assistance, insurance packages will be offered that will cover treatment and quarantine costs in the event of an infection. Air Europa hopes that this insurance, which is chargeable to travelers, can boost demand a little.
