The takeover of the Spanish Air Europa by IAG is still on shaky ground.

A final decision should now be made. On this occasion, the International Airlines Group and its Spanish subsidiary Iberia are holding unscheduled board meetings. It is uncertain whether a purchase makes sense in these times. In addition, the Brexit deal would cause problems for those involved, like ch-aviation.com reported. Because this could lead to unexpected restrictions in air traffic. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the second wave of which is currently keeping Europe in check, the group revised its offer a few weeks ago. Instead of the original almost one billion euros, the IAG recently offered less than half. As a reason for this, the holding company cited the airline's drastically reduced market value with the ongoing pandemic.
