Air France-KLM received billions in state aid to survive the CoV crisis reasonably well. These should also be paid back. For this reason, the airline is selling shares in a maintenance division to the financial investor Apollo Global.
A partial sale of a maintenance division to Apollo Global should bring in a total of 500 million euros, as aero.de reports. Specifically, the “exclusive negotiations” with Apollo are about a corresponding capital injection into a technology division in which Air France manages spare engines. The proceeds will be used to redeem bonds that France had used to ensure Air France's liquidity during the crisis, and at the same time facilitate the financing of new replacement engines.
