Air Greenland has officially retired its only Airbus A330-200, the OY-GRN. The machine, which bears the baptismal name "Norsaq", has been the flagship of the fleet since 2002. An A330-800 was flown in as its successor.

On February 16, 2023, the OY-GRN was last used commercially on the Copenhagen-Kangerlussuaq-Copenhagen route. Since then, the long-haul aircraft has been parked at the airport in the Danish capital. “The Norsaq has been a really fantastic aircraft for Air Greenland and for Greenland. Norsaq was loved by crew and passengers alike and will be missed, but the memory of more than 20 years of faithful and trouble-free service lives on,” said Chief Executive Jacob Nitter Sørensen.

In December 2022, Air Greenland took delivery of a brand new Airbus A330-800, OY-GKN. This was put into active service shortly afterwards. After a short parallel phase with the predecessor, it is now the carrier's only widebody.
