Air India will operate six medium-haul Airbus A320neo jets. These are obtained from the lessor CDB Aviation. According to the company, this should be the start of the fleet renewal pushed by owner Tata.
Air India, India's largest airline, expects demand to increase significantly in the coming months. The aim is to bring in additional machines as quickly as possible and at the same time to renew the fleet, some of which is getting on in years. It can be assumed that there will always be announcements from the airline and/or lessors regarding new deals.
First, the Tata Sons subsidiary was able to secure six Airbus A320neo. These are leased from CDB Aviation and are scheduled to be handed over in the second half of 2023. “This is an important agreement that will help us strengthen our fleet with the most modern aircraft. This will improve our connectivity, particularly on short and medium-haul routes, and is an important step in our transformation journey,” said Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal.
