The Star Alliance member Air India will close five European stations in view of the consequences of the corona crisis. With this, the company wants to reduce costs. In addition to Vienna, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid and Milan are also affected.
The consequence of this is that the flights to these airports are being abandoned. The respective station managers were instructed in internal letters to close the five European stations mentioned.
"In view of the situation in Covid, AI has decided to close these stations and will immediately initiate closing measures in consultation with the local station managers and inform them of the deadlines by which the station will be closed," an Air India spokesman told IANS.
